Rivers, Pollution and Flooding

The Agencies that are responsible for our rivers, must dredge all UK rivers (maintenance) and must not pollute our rivers in any way (0%) for any reason. The Somerset levels and flooding were cured by just the standard dredging / maintenance of the rivers.

A typical example of where our rivers are in the UK is shown in the above pictures (courtesy of B & V of Ogmore Village) in South Wales which shows an organised dredge of some 2,000 tyres, etc. etc. but what is shown and not mentioned, highlighted in the pictures is the massive silt build-up within the river caused over the last fifty years. The river agencies must also store water, transport water (canals) stop all leaks and conserve water. The UK population would be glad to help (water tanks, butts, underground storage etc.). We should install Fergal Sharkey as Minister for River Regulation and, Paul Whitehouse as the Zhar along with the able assistance of Bob Mortimer, (the right people in the right place to make the Politicians listen)!
